Bayfield Court Sweetie Tree Making

This week the residents have been busy making polystyrene sweetie trees, where they worked together to create some beautiful looking table top decorations full of sweets, whilst listening to some classical music and socialising. Also on Tuesday the residents took the opportunity to take part in an armchair keep fit session where they gave their muscles a gentle exercise to music whilst others chose a more relaxing activity and spent some time with the reflexologist and had a head and foot massage. In the afternoon the residents gathered in the lounge and as a group had fun with a trivia quiz where they answered questions relating to old songs from their era. In some groups there were some real masterminds that is for sure! Not to forget the market stall that came to Bayfield Court where the residents had pleasurable look through all the clothes and some even bought some items of clothing which was lovely. Last but not least a favourite for the residents is Bayfield Bingo! The residents gathered together in the Bistro and took part in a game of bingo and won some lovely prizes whilst enjoying a drink in the bar.
Redwing Animal Sanctuary

This week the residents took the opportunity up on an outing to Redwing Animal sanctuary where they went for the day and engaged and interacted with some animals which was recovering from all sorts of problems. The day included a pick nick that the chef prepared and a stop at the café for tea and coffee before setting off again. They finally arrived home late afternoon where they relaxed and watched a film of their choice. Some of the residents took part in their arm chair keep fit, where they had a gentle body work out whilst following along with some music. The residents feel this is an excellent to keep them moving and stimulated and truly enjoyable activity. Not to forget the meet and make friends morning which takes place first thing, after breakfast. This is where all the residents meet in the Bistro, some read the newspaper with a cup of tea and others like to sit and socialise. This way the residents can be aware of their activity schedule and have something to look forward to throughout the day. On Wednesday we had an entertainer in called Jayne, she was absolutely fantastic! Everyone; including family and friends, were gathered in the Lounge whilst she was singing to some old classics. The atmosphere was wonderful and everyone was up singing and dancing having a ball! Last but not least, the residents went to our local garden centre in the mini bus to choose some flowers for the garden. When the weather gets a bit nicer the residents will be out with table pots helping potting some plants and doing some gardening.
